fleeting

colonial past
a pristine civilization
feels spiritual
.....................
a falling apple
could transform posterity
a fleeting moment
...............................
a conquered country
had to lose the kohinoor *
to fleeting beauty
.............................
caressed by lightning
the effect devastating
momentary life
....................

  2. Hi ZG, I had to do a quick survey of Czech history. Your poem is very appropriat. Like Sandy says, I agree it can relate to us when we are feeling like a loser. Thank you.

  11. The most interesting to me is the first. I'm scratching my head trying to figure out when a colonial past was ever pristine and spiritual. Can you share this history or your thoughts on this one?

  12. hi susan,
    thanks for asking.
historians and indologists generally agree that the indian civilization dates back to 3000 b.c.
the colonial period in india lies between 1757 a.d and 1947 a.d. (the british raj).from the vedic times india has been recognized for it's spiritual thought.Friedrich Max Müller (a german scholar)

  13. A great quartet of haiku - the second one brings a laugh and surely they all relate to the fleeting...
