twilight

golden suffusion
filled with the birds' harmonies
but that was morning

the day had to end
for that's when the cows come home
nothing like twilight ..

  6. I remember my mother giving me a hard time for staying out long after the 'cows came home'. We never had cows so it was rather confusing.
